- A hilltop aerie
- 17th century Baroque art
- A computer-operated tram.
- And 1.2 million square feet of fossilized travertine
Still puzzled? You'll find the answer here...
Answer: The Getty Center sits high above Los Angeles, with views out to the Pacific Ocean, the San Gabriel Mountains and the city itself. Architect Richard Meier's vision is clad in 1.2 million square feet of travertine - look closely and you may see the fossilized traces of leaves and feathers. You'll find a vast collection of European art here, as well as modern sculpture and elaborate gardens.
Admission is free, as is the very cool tram that takes you from the parking lot ($15 per car, or $10 after 3 p.m.) to the museum.
